If you don’t see how meaningless and overused such terms as “equity” and “diversity” are, then I can’t help you.

I never said that THIS particular case was dangerous, I said that wokeness in general is dangerous. Dangerous in that it threatens lives? No (although Antifa falls into this category), but dangerous to our culture by flatly declaring that only people of certain immutable characteristics are allowed to be promoted and studied? Absolutely.

There were recent efforts to ban Dr. Seuss books because they were supposedly racist. Yale getting rid of its Western Art class because they focused too much on white male artists? There are countless other attempts to do away studying figures simply because of their immutable characteristics.

I’m all for diversity by addition, but not diversity by subtraction.

I’ll cede to you that in my last response to you that I conflated criticism with censorship, but the philosophy they’re pushing here is the exact same one that undergirds other efforts to censor — and in some cases, even rewrite — literature and history simply to cater to trendy puritanism.

Also, if you’re going to continue arguing with me, how about keeping it related to the topic at hand? Again, I agree with you about the controversy around Arthur, but I wasn’t writing on the stupidity of the right at the time (I plan to in the future…)
