I’m criticizing the underlying bigotry that undergirds wokeness. If these were just calls to include more books from female, minority, LGBTQ, etc. authors, I’d be all for it.

But instead, these are efforts to highlight authors based on their race, gender, sexuality, and other immutable characteristics. If an author is too white, too male, or too straight, then too bad, they’ve had their turn and it’s time for them to go.

I’m all for diversity by addition, but completely against diversity by subtraction.
