Then why is “privilege” treated like it’s an accusation? I’ve been called a privileged white person (despite not being white) simply for calling out the stupidity of wokeness, even though people who’ve called me that know NOTHING about my life and experience. Why do they get away with that? Why isn’t there a standard definition for the term privilege? Why is so malleable, something that can just be hurled at a person who shares a differing view?
I have the same problems with “toxic masculinity”. Feminists are far too casual in how they throw that term around. Men who rape are toxic, and men who open doors for women are toxic.
If Woke Folk really want these terms to be taken seriously, there has to be some concerted effort to discourage such a broad application of them and to enforce a clear definition of them. But there isn’t any attempt to standardize these terms or their usage. Why?
