Why aren’t POC authors given the same scrutiny? Because we live in this ridiculous world where, apparently, only White people are racist, are POC authors then given a pass to write White characters in a sloppy or stereotypical manner?

I’m all for encouraging writers — regardless of race, gender, sexuality, etc. — to do the necessary research when writing characters outside of their identity, but I’m viciously opposed to the selectiveness of the current effort to bring this about.

And a“preserve”? I’m against segregation, even in the literary world.
