Your argument has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was making. I don’t even think you read the article.

I said nothing about whether Allen was guilty or not, or who should be allowed to have a voice in our society. I was only talking about a publisher that caved to the whims of an emotional mob.

Cancel culture is turning into a trend, especially in the literary world. The author of American Dirt was forced to cancel her book tour because of death threats — all because of her crime of being white while writing a book about Mexicans. Students at Georgetown University removed hundreds of books they deemed “problematic” from their library — simply by judging the covers. Numerous YA authors over the past few years have had to retract or or rewrite their novels because they offended a handful of people.
